Since my teens I have always looked forward to the start of the New Year. To be able to start all over again was like crawling into bed and smelling the beautiful clean sheets just after mom had dried them in the glorious sunshine. This year, however, it seems as though the entire world looked forward to the "new". Even in the midst of wars, crimes, and negativity - there was "Hope".
The "Miracle on the Hudson" symbolized so, so much. Anyone looking at the photos of the people standing on the wings of the plane, submerged up to their knees in water, has to feel some kind of warmness within their heart. Then there was the absolute "excitement" of some of the survivors who spoke words about "being alive" and "being anxious to see their family" - in other words, putting things in perspective.
Being the lover of numbers that I am, I started playing with them. The crash happened on January 15, 2009. January 15 = 01+15, which equals 1+1+5, which equals 7. In Native American teachings, seven is a sacred number. Then we have 2009, which equals 2+9, equalling 11. The numerical number eleven symbolizes our connection to the universe. So there we have the sacred numbers 7 and 11. Wouldn't it be grand if those of us who have been remembering 911, now started to remember "711" instead? Just think of the "Hope" we could share. Indeed, 2009 is going to be a fantastic year - I just feel it!!
Happy New Year folks!
